Our 2nd Anniversary!

It’s hard to believe that two years have gone by…two years since that wonderful day of hurried last-minute preparations, the excitement of the unknown, anticipation of a new life ahead, emotions of moving away from the home I’ve known for so long, and awe at the man the Lord gave me.

Last year, we had a precious one-month old to enjoy for our one year anniversary…

This year, we celebrated #2 in the beautiful setting of Northwoods, MI, where we’ve spent the last week relaxing, Robert has been running network wires, taking walks, praying for the girls on the Journey up here, spending time together, and enjoying a slower-paced week for a change. Robert, Sauntina and I took a walk around part of the lake and explored some buildings on our anniversary, drinking in the sunlight and doing our best to avoid the mosquitoes! I am so blessed to have a faithful, constant companion who walks so close to the Lord that others sense it from his daily life and is blessed by simply being around him. Thank you, Lord, for a man who fears you, whom I can follow next to his side in this race in life and encourage each one of our children to imitate his example! I love you, Robert!

  1. Beautifully written Kendalyn!

I’m sure Robert feels the same about you also! When “God” is “The One” who brings two people together – and they seek Him and His timing -it’s right for both – and for His Glory!

He who knows the hearts of both people makes no mistakes!

Happy 2nd Anniversary to both of you!

  2. Happy Anniversary!

  3. So very beautiful. You are a beautiful God-honoring couple and you are both such a blessing in my life reading your posts and keeping up with you and your family. I was doing some cleaning the other day and as I sorted things, I found a letter about the Health conference we attended, and the question I had sent was answered by you, Kendalyn in 2007 . I smiled and said a prayer for you.
I cannot tell you the uplift I feel in my spirit every time I see a picture of you both as a couple. May God continue to bless you and use you in a mighty way. The glow of God is on both your lives.
You are a very precious letter sent by God to all of us. Love you both

  4. Happy Anniversary!!

Sounds like you had a great time.
    An escape from it all.
    I have a saying…Michigan is Majestic.
My husband sails in the yearly Race to Mackinac Island.
So each summer I get to drive up north and wait for him to sail across the finish line. No cars are allowed on the island. So it’s foot, bike or horses if you want to get around. We have spent so many hours walking and biking around in some of the most spectacular natural beauty that it can only bring you closer to the Lord. Our escape from it all.
I can only imagine how special it would be to celebrate our anniversary in “our Mich”.
Pictures 8 and 10 are priceless. How she has grown! And the old baby standby….cords. Why do they love them so? 😉

    Blessings,
    Elizabeth

    • How lovely! You can enjoy so much more when you walk places and see things more closely at a slower pace, and what a lovely time to spend with your husband. I’ll have to keep this place in mind if we’re ever in the area…it sounds fascinating!

      • It is fascinating!
It has natural beauty, family fun and history (Fort Mackinac is located on the island). Much of the island is a State Park so it is untouched. As you bike through it you can pull over and have the most amazing picnic on a postcard beautiful beach that you have all to yourself!
And thats part of why we love it so much…the slower pace makes us so thankful for the things that REALLY matter. 🙂

  5. Congratulations!!!May The Lord continue to bring you closer to Him and with each other!!!
